Event Description

Drop by the kitchen in the Carriage House to meet the newest addition to the Dornsife Team, Chef Brian Lofink. Ask him about cooking tips and techniques and learn how to prepare healthy food at home. Chef Lofink will be in the kitchen every Tuesday from 4:00-5:00 PM cooking and chatting. Stop by, say hello, and ask him about his upcoming workshops:

August 9th, 5:30-7:00pm: Cooking with Seasonal Produce from Clark Park Farmer’s Market – Our community chef will pick up some fun and exciting ingredients from the local farmer’s market and create delicious food right from your very own backyard!

August 16th, 5:30-7:00pm:  How to be a Working Parent and Cook Healthy Meals for your Kids – Our community chef will teach you some simple, nutritious and flavor packed recipes so that you can work knowing your children are eating properly at home.

August 23rd, 12:00-1:00pm:  How to Creatively Cook for 1 or 2 People? (Senior Luncheon) – Our community chef will offer techniques and recipes that will inspire you to cook creatively for yourself or another person.

August 30th, 5:30-7:00pm: Sicilian Cuisine – Our community chef will explore the fresh, spicy and vibrant flavors that make the cuisine of Sicily so delicious and diverse.  Sicilian cuisine shows traces of all the cultures that established themselves on the island of Sicily over the past two millennia. Although its cuisine has a lot in common with Italian cuisine, Sicilian food also has Greek, Spanish, French and Arab influences.

Workshops are limited – please RSVP as soon as possible by calling the Dornsife Center at (215) 571-4013 or emailing dornsifecenter@drexel.edu
