A model of the IceCube Neutrino Observatory Designed and Built by High School Students

Presented by high school students of the IceCube Immersive Summer Program:

Robin Zhang, Central High School

Four high school students will present their summer work at Drexel University. Under the supervision of Brean Prefontaine, an undergraduate physics major, the high school students designed, coded, and built a model of the IceCube Neutrino Observatory at the South Pole using programmable LEDs and a microprocessor. They then took their model to the Franklin Institute and taught the general public about the IceCube Neutrino Observatory.
