U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara of the Southern District of New York will appear at a forum at the law school. Since taking office in 2009, Bharara has overseen the investigation and litigation of cases involving domestic and international terrorism, narcotics and arms trafficking, white collar crime, public corruption, gang violence and civil rights violations. His many accomplishments include life sentences for the Times Square bomber and an Al Qaeda plotter, as well as a guilty plea from Peter Madoff in his brother, Bernie Madoff’s Ponzi scheme. Previously, he led the investigation of the firings of U.S. attorneys as chief counsel for a U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee subcommittee.
