The BlackStar Film Festival is an annual celebration of the visual and storytelling traditions of the African diaspora and of global indigenous communities, showcasing films by black people from around the world.

Friday, 8/3 in the Screening Room:
 
2pm - Awesomely (shorts program) BUY TICKETS
Existential crises abound in these stories about Black men as they work out surprise kinks. Quirky wit is key as these shorts invite us to journey with characters overcoming their own head trips.

4:05pm - When Worlds Collide (shorts program) BUY TICKETS
Living between worlds takes its toll on our relationships with self, with others, and with the world. Whether between continents or between homes, these films offer intimate character sketches that personalize the political.


6:30pm - Hot & Bothered (youth narrative) BUY TICKETS
Two sarcastic stoner 20 year olds get in over their heads when they create the Grindr for Lesbians.
