Special Symposium: Biology of the Giant Panda

Event Description

On Wednesday, August 22, 2012, visiting scientists from the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding will present their research on the biology and conservation of the giant panda. Speakers will include Dr. Hou Rong, director of research, Dr. Lan Jingchao, director of the center's veterinary hospital, and Dr. Qi Dunwu, manager of the center's program to reintroduce giant pandas back into the wild.

 

The Chengdu Giant Panda Research Base is a non-profit organization engaged in wildlife research, captive breeding, conservation education, and educational tourism.

 

Reception to follow.

 

This event is sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences, the Department of Biology, the English Language Center, the Department of Biodiversity, Earth and Environmental Science, the Global Cause Foundation, and the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.
