Start Date: 6/29/2017Start Time: 8:00 AM
End Date: 9/1/2017End Time: 7:00 PM
Event Description
Exhibition from June 29, 2017 through November 10, 2017. Earl Dotter is an award-winning photojournalist who has been documenting the lives of American workers for over forty years. His focus is on the occupational and environmental concerns of some of the more dangerous and unhealthy conditions of workers from the Appalachian coal fields to asbestos workers.

These two exhibitions BADGES: A Memorial Tribute to Asbestos Workers and LIFE'S WORK: A Fifty Year Photographic Chronicle of Working in the U.S.A., demonstrate the breadth of Earl Dotter's work in occupational photography and how important the documentation is for the improvement of working conditions across the United States. The exhibitions were brought to Drexel University through the generosity of Arthur Frank, MD, PhD, professor and chair emeritus, Department of Environmental and Occupational Health and the Dornsife School of Public Health.

The exhibitions will be on view in the Rincliffe Gallery, Main Building, 3rd floor, from June 29 to Sept. 1, with an opening reception on June 29. Lunchtime lectures by Arthur Frank, MD, PhD and Earl Dotter will be held on July 11 and Aug. 8.

The Rincliffe Gallery is open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Gallery is free and open to the public.
