Adult Class: An Insect Collection: Pinning and Preserving

Event Description

The Academy has the oldest insect collection in the Western Hemisphere. Come learn about why we collect insects and the ways in which we preserve them.

Get a behind-the-scenes peek at the collection, and then pin your own insects to take home. Curatorial Assistant Greg Cowper and Live Invertebrate Specialist Karen Verderame will share their expertise and entertain you with true stories of collecting.

Time: 6:30–9 p.m.
$20 members, $25 nonmembers
Maximum 25 participants
Teachers can earn three Act 48 credits
