The Fundamentals of Beer is being offered as a continuing professional education course during the fall of 2015. This ten-week course will be offered on Wednesdays from 6pm to 9pm beginning on September 23. The cost of the course will be $495.

How it shaped early human history
How it accelerated the end of the European middle ages
How it's made and how you can make it
What beer means in the modern world and how to talk about it
How beer works as an item in commerce
How beer enhances food
What drinking means in the modern world
Why and how good beer is proliferating and bad beer is retreating
What beer really tastes like
This course is a hands-on, glasses up approach. We'll talk about Louis Pasteur and Joe Louis: the Industrial Revolution and Industrial Beer. We'll make some beer and we'll visit places where beer is made. There will be a research requirement and final in-class presentations.
