Cornell Law School professor Sandra Babcock presents "Lessons Learned From Eight Years of Ambivalent Advocacy in Malawi."

Sandra Babcock is a clinical professor at Cornell Law School. Her scholarship and practice focus on international human rights, access to justice, death penalty defense, international gender rights, and the application of international law in U.S. courts. Since 1991, Professor Babcock has represented dozens of prisoners facing execution in the U.S. and is recognized as a leading authority on the intersection of international law and capital punishment. In May 2003, she was awarded the Aguila Azteca by the government of Mexico – the highest honor bestowed by the Mexican government upon citizens of foreign countries – for her representation of Mexican nationals facing the death penalty in the U.S. In 2014, she was a Fulbright Scholar in France where she conducted a comparative study of clinical legal education in France and the U.S.
