Event Description

During the summer, all students, staff and faculty are invited to read one of the following three books:

Dreamland: The True Tale of America's Opiate Epidemic
by Sam Quinones.

Saving Gotham: A Billionaire Mayor, Activist Doctors, and the Fight for Eight Million Lives
by Tom Farley, MD, MPH. The author is the current Health Commissioner for the City of Philadelphia.

The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks
by Rebecca Skloot

Students, staff and faculty who read a book will be able to participate in small discussion groups with DSPH faculty during orientation. You do not have to finish the book in order to participate.
