Event Description The Lecturer for the Drexel/Torrance Center, which this year coincides with the ACA 2012 Conference being co-hosted by Drexel is James Kaufman, professor of psychology at California State University-San Bernardino, where he directs their Learning Research Institute. Dr. Kaufman also is president-elect of American Psychological Association’s (APA) Division 10 (Aesthetics, Creativity, and the Arts), founding editor of APA’s newest journal, Psychology of Popular Media Culture, and Associate Editor of Psychological Assessment and the Journal of Creative Behavior. In addition, he is author or editor of 22 books either published or in press including: Creativity 101 (Springer, 2009); Cambridge Handbook of Creativity (with Sternberg; Cambridge, 2010); Essentials of Creativity Assessment (with Jonathan Plucker and John Baer; Wiley, 2008), International Handbook of Creativity (with Robert Sternberg; Cambridge, 2006), and Nurturing Creativity in the Classroom (with Ron Beghetto; Cambridge, 2010). Dr. Kaufman's research has been featured and discussed on/in CNN, NPR, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Wall Street Journal, New Yorker, and the BBC. He travels around the world talking about the power of creativity, keynoting in Taiwan, Qatar, Korea, Spain, France, and other places.
