Event Description
The Drexel University School of Education is seeking highly motivated teacher leaders interested in early childhood/ elementary leadership to serve as Future Principal Residents (FPRs) over the course of the next academic year. Through a generous grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Education to facilitate the development of more skilled instructional leadership among PreK-4 principals, Drexel is able to offer this program at no cost to FPRs who will:

Workshops topics include (1) PreK- 4 Early Learning Continuum, (2) Developmentally Appropriate Teaching and Learning in the PreK- 4 Learning Environment, (3) Child-Based Assessments, (4) Personalized and Blended Learning in the PreK-4 Environment, and (5) Building Capacity Within and Across the School Community;
  • Collaborate with a Highly Effective Principal Mentor to translate learning into practice in a PreK-4 setting and;
  • Earn learning achievement badges upon successful completion of each course and a micro-credential when you complete the program. Successful participants may be eligible for ACT 48 credits.
To qualify, participants must:
  • Plan to enroll, be enrolled, or have recently completed a state approved principal certification program, but not have served as an assistant principal or principal for more than one year;
  • Be willing and eager to spend the additional time required to complete the Future Principal Residency program, with its online study and residency requirements during and after school hours, and serve your residency under the guidance of a highly effective principal with PreK-4 experience.
