Learning Objectives

  • Understand how spinal cord injury (SCI) affects the critical neural circuitry that controls diaphragmatic respiratory function
  • Understand the neurological mechanisms that prevent successful axon regeneration and consequent restoration of respiratory function following SCI
  • Understand innovative therapeutic approaches being developed that can promote axon regeneration and reconnection of damaged neural circuitry that controls respiratory function following SCI
