Event Description
A panel of University faculty will discuss the historical context and literary significance of this year’s selection, with topics including: the history, causes, and ramifications of American slavery; the American Civil War; and Reconstruction. A reception will take place
from 4:30–5 p.m., followed by our panel discussion from 5–6 p.m.
