Decade of Discovery: A Film Screening and Panel Discussion

Event Description
Shown across the country, the celebrated documentary Decade of Discovery is set at the White House and unfolds the story of a government attorney on a quest to find a better way to search White House email and a teacher who took a stand for civil justice on the electronic frontier.

A distinguished panel immediately following the film will explore the topic further, discussing current headlines such as Secretary Clinton’s emails and the FBI’s case with Apple.  

The event will begin with a reception followed by the screening and panel. The event is free and open to the public.

Panelists include:

Jason R. Baron, Esq. former director of litigation at the U.S. National Archives and Records Attorney and current of counsel at Drinker, Biddle & Reath, LLP

Nancy Carol Kranich, former president of the American Library Association and advocate for free and open access to information. Nancy is currently a lecturer at Rutgers University.

Mary Ebeling, PhD, associate professor of sociology at Drexel University and director, Women's and Gender Studies, with a focus on science and technology studies.

Brian Keech, senior vice president, government and community relations at Drexel University will serve as the moderator.

The reception and screening will take place in the URBN Center Annex located at 3401 Filbert Street. Street parking is available and Drexel parking information is available on this website.
