Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of the activity, participants should be able to:
- Review the basic pathophysiology of the vaso-occlusive crisis of sickle cell disease
- Describe the basic properties of the n-3 fatty acids and their metabolites in relation to pain and inflammation
- Discuss the concepts, organization and the potential conduct of a clinical trial with appropriate primary and secondary end points
