Event Description

Want better health without beating yourself up?

Tai Chi has been found to improve balance, increase bone density, benefit heart health and enhance quality of life. This slow, gentle, flowing exercise leads to some wonderful benefits for body and mind. A National Institutes of Health comprehensive review of studies suggests it might as well be called “meditation in motion.”

The current popularity of mindfulness and the new understanding of the “gut brain” are just a few of the aspects of well-being built into this ancient health exercise. We will talk about and experience these concepts and learn how to get the most benefit from practicing Tai Chi.

Attend this workshop to:

  • Learn simple methods to help you feel relaxed and energized.
  • Learn simple techniques to help you maintain your posture and balance.
  • Learn some easy Tai Chi and Qi Gong exercises.

Instructor Doren Day is a certified T’ai Chi teacher and licensed acupuncturist. She has practiced Tai Chi for over 30 years and enjoys helping people reduce stress and improve their health.

This event will be offered in two sessions. January 16th and January 30th. You may regsiter for one or both sessions in Career Pathway.

These workshops are open to all Drexel University faculty and professional staff. Registration is required. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing.
