Self-Care Strategies to Face the Ongoing Uncertainty
Start Date: 12/7/2020Start Time: 9:30 AM
End Date: 12/7/2020End Time: 11:00 AM

Event Description
There is so much going on in our world with the changes that the global pandemic has brought and the extraordinary social unrest that we are experiencing. Adding to that is the stress that the holiday season can bring. We know the role of those supporting others can be rewarding, challenging and exhausting, and this was true even before COVID-19 became everyone’s reality. The shifting sands and duration of the pandemic are taking a toll on many of us. It is more important than ever that we practice self-care and reap the benefits of community.

You are invited to join the Drexel Administrative Professionals Learning Community on December 7 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. for 90 minutes of “Self-Care Strategies to Face the Ongoing Uncertainty” and spend some time with your colleagues. Registration is required in Career Pathway.

Ahaji Schreffler, ’01, ’17, will be joining this networking event to assist with a guided meditation. This event is a wonderful opportunity to learn how to better manage your stress and more deeply engage your work and life.  Schreffler wears many hats at Drexel, setting a great example for us all in finding a strong work-life balance.  Schreffler co-leads two Drexel Intensive Courses Abroad in Haiti through her position in the Office for Global Engagement and is the founder of a small non-profit that supports Haitian orphans. Schreffler also serves at the Vice President for Drexel's Black Faculty and Professional Staff Association. In addition, Schreffler has led the Drexel Meditation Group for many years.

Eric Zillmer, PsyD, Director of Athletics and Carl R. Pacifico Professor of Neuropsychology, will also join this event. Because Zillmer is perhaps best known for is his research and work on happiness, it only seemed fitting for him to participate. Zillmer has taught courses on happiness, given TEDx talks on the subject and even earlier this year did a webinar entitled "Are You Happy? Finding the Meaning of Life During COVID-19. "

Please register for this event via Career Pathway. Simply log in to DrexelOne, select the Employee tab and select the Career Pathway link, then use the Events Calendar to find and register for this event.
