Event Description
In our progressing society, more and more people are exploring their gender identity and expression. How can you be supportive and validating in your relations with these individuals in your professional and personal lives?
This wellness talk will review ever-evolving inclusive terminology, discuss common types of discrimination, harassment, and adversity gender fluid/non-binary individuals experience, examine the impact of certain biases and stereotypes, and provide an opportunity to openly discuss how to overtly and covertly demonstrate allyship to this population."
Jenna Damico, M.S., is a rising fourth year clinical psychology doctorate student under the mentorship of Dr. Arthur M. Nezu and Dr. Christine Maguth Nezu. Jenna's clinical interests and experiences include treating children, college students, and adults experiencing mood and anxiety concerns, as well as types of personality dysfunction. Her research interests involve populations who are at risk for suicide and non-suicidal self-injury, including the LGBTQIA+ population. Prior to pursuing graduate school, Jenna worked as the coordinator for the New Beginnings Veterans Clinic at Drexel.
Jennifer Schwartz, Ph.D.,ABPP is a board-certified licensed clinical psychologist, teaching professor, and the Director of the Psychological Services Center (PSC) in the Department of Psychology at Drexel. Drexel’s PSC is a training clinic that serves the Philadelphia community. There, Dr. Schwartz trains clinical psychology graduate students in state-of-the-art therapeutic approaches of patient assessment and treatment. |
