A Healthier U would like to invite all faculty and professional staff to get involved with our latest online physical activity challenge — Walktober. This inspiring campaign will help you enhance your health and well-being all through the month of October, and beyond.
Walking has multiple health benefits, including better weight control, improved sleep, more energy, emotional/psychological/mental lift and a decreased risk for many chronic conditions.
Tracking your daily walking minutes in our online Walktober system is simple and fun. Your goal in Walktober is to log at least 30 minutes of walking for at least 20 of the 31 days of this challenge. Delicious recipes, great incentives, inspiring articles and motivating daily emails help
you keep moving.
Every individual who completes the challenge of walking for at least 20 days for at least 30 minutes a day will receive a stylish A Healthier U hoodie! And members of the top team of 4-10 members will receive a $50 gift certificate to the Drexel Recreation Center.
Sign up for Walktober today. Registration is open for faculty and professional staff beginning on September 16, 2013, and you can begin logging minutes on October 1. The last day of Walktober will be October 31. Don’t forget to log time spent walking with your kids on Halloween!
