: 6:30-7:30 p.m. please join us after the official ceremony to toast our initiates and to network! This optional event will take place conveniently across the street at the Landmark Americana (cash bar).

Join us in celebration of the initiation of new members to the Drexel University Sigma Chapter. CCI Assistant Professor Alex Poole will serve as the evening’s keynote speaker. All faculty, staff BPM alumni, family members and friends of new members are invited to attend.
About the Speaker Alex Poole
An Assistant Professor at Drexel University’s College of Computing and Informatics, Alex H. Poole received his PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Poole’s research interests center on digital curation, digital humanities, pedagogy, diversity and inclusivity in the Library and Information Science profession, and all matters archival. His work has been published in Digital Humanities Quarterly, American Archivist, and Archival Science. He received the Theodore Calvin Pease Award from the Society of American Archivists for “The Strange Career of Jim Crow Archives: Race, Space, and History in the Mid-Twentieth-Century South.” Poole currently teaches Introduction to Archives at Drexel; as a teaching fellow at UNC, he taught Introduction to Archives and Records Management, Digital Humanities, and Information Resources and Services.
