Event Description

"Creative Technologies for Remote Learning"

with Youngmoo Kim, PhD, Director, Expressive and Creative Interactive Technologies (ExCITe) Center

Abstract:

In this talk, I’ll demonstrate how I've incorporated and developed new media technologies to improve remote learning for 3 undergraduate engineering classes.  I’ll detail the evolution of a video production workflow to create high quality material for asynchronous learning as well as different tools and platforms for real-time collaboration. Some of these same principles have also been used in large-scale creative works,  https://youtu.be/_fDrR9q1FCs. Click or tap if you trust this link."> such as this video .

Youngmoo Kim is Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering and Director of the ExCITe Center  Drexel’s institute for transdisciplinary collaboration. His research group, the Music & Entertainment Technology Laboratory (MET-lab), pursues AI for music, human-machine interfaces and robotics for expressive interaction, and STEAM education. He has served as Resident Technologist for Opera Philadelphia and serves as an advisor for the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance. He was a member of the National Academies committee for “Branches from the Same Tree”  a 2018 report on the integration of the Humanities & Arts with Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine in Higher Education.
