Event Description
“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Join us on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr Day, January 21st from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. to reflect upon the legacy and impact of Dr. King and the movement he helped to lead. Share your stories of what it was like to be alive during the Civil Rights Movement. Did you participate in a march? Did you hear Dr. King speak? Whether or not you were there, we hope you join us as our families, neighbors and friends share their stories about “things that matter.” Together we can connect the past to the present. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. to begin seating. Program begins at 1:00 p.m.

Refreshments will be served. Please RSVP by email at dornsifecenter@drexel.edu or by phone at 215-571-4013.

This will be the beginning of a multistage process to retrieve and catalog for our community the stories and memories that live within our community. Stay tuned for more to come during Black History Month and beyond.

*Please Note: The Dornsife Center is only open for special MLK programming on January 21. All other programs are closed for the day.
