Event Description

Thersa Sweet, PhD, MPH, associate professor in the department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, will lead a discussion on new onset Diabetes after SARS-CoV-2 infection.

The paper “Risk for Newly Diagnosed Diabetes >30 Days After SARS-CoV-2 Infection Among Persons Aged <18 Years” is by Catherine E. Barrett and colleagues from CDC’s COVID-19 Emergency Response Team. Sweet will present the MMWR report, which was published on January 7, 2022. The paper explores new onset diabetes among youth <18 who have recent COVID-19 infection..
