Event Description
Join us to watch and discuss three films that showcase the first-hand experiences of young people living with various disabilities and chronic illnesses. These documentaries invite us to explore the inner-worlds of non-speaking autistic individuals around the globe, to consider the confusion and social isolation produced by a Chronic Fatigue Syndrome diagnosis, and to witness the long and complex road to recovery from hemorrhagic stroke. Our discussions will involve themes of gender bias in the medical industry, social stigma, and the social constructions of disability and illness.

Wednesday, January 25, 6-8 p.m. "The Reason I Jump"
Discussion moderators: Elizabeth McGhee Hassrick and Tamara Garfield, A.J. Drexel Autism Institute

Wednesday, February 8, 6-8 p.m. "Unrest"

Wednesday, February 22, 6-8 p.m. "My Beautiful Broken Brain"
