Event Description When it comes to distributed systems, we abuse banks as illustrative examples. As a community, we still rely on the age-old example of withdrawing and depositing funds from an account when, in reality, the complexity of modern banks make them incompatible with traditional ACID semantics. This talk will explore, through the magic of Ricky Martin lyrics, the exciting world of eventual consistency. How do they succeed, fail, and change? The talk will be presented by Jonathan Magen, principal technologist at Cigna. Join WiCS and Cigna for some lunch and enjoy this event! Open to all Drexel CCI students.
