Join Drexel University’s Corporate Partner of the Month for October - Independence Blue Cross - for a lunchtime mindfulness yoga session taught by Health Fitness Specialist Lindsay Dechert in order to bring calm and clarity into your day. Learn easy and diverse techniques to help you find calmness, relaxation and focus - especially during uncertain times in order to protect your emotional wellbeing.
Lindsay grew up in fitness, starting with going to the YMCA and taking her mother’s step aerobics classes. From there, fitness has always been in her life, either through classes or being an athlete playing multiple sports. Soccer was her main sport which helped her receive a scholarship playing at Eastern Illinois University while obtaining a B.S. in Exercise Science. After college, Lindsay expanded her fitness knowledge by obtaining several specialty certifications (including Zumba and YogaFit, with her mother!)
Outside of work, Lindsay continues to play soccer and softball in recreational leagues around Philly. Lindsay also enjoys reading a good book and travelling whenever she can. Lindsay likes to keep her workouts varied by running, biking and practicing Yoga. She likes to do at least one race a year to keep motivated as well as playing soccer and softball. Also, nutrition plays a big part in her life and she likes to try new healthy recipes.
