End Date: 10/30/2020End Time: 1:00 PM
Event Description
You are invited to the Department of Global Studies and Modern Languages first online Global Passport Series (GPS) event. This free event is co-sponsored by the Department of Global Studies and Modern Languages and the College of Arts and Sciences.

In summer 2020, the United States experienced the largest, most sustained protests for racial justice in its history, spurred by the murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis police officers. Uprisings flared in cities across the country, including Philadelphia.

At Drexel, top administrators announced new institutional commitments to anti-racism. In this talk, Amelia Hoover Green, PhD, associate dean for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the College of Arts and Sciences, discusses the progress and prognosis of anti-racism initiatives at Drexel, including their complex relationships to politics in Philly and across the country.

The annual Drexel Global Passport Series (GPS), organized by the Department of Global Studies and Modern Languages, seeks to facilitate global conversations at Drexel and in Philadelphia to ensure rich student engagement and build strong partnerships with local communities and organizations.
