Event Description In honor of Latino Heritage Month, the Office of Equality and Diversity, the Dept. of English and Philosophy, and the College of Arts and Sciences are sponsoring a “Spanish Book Drive” to benefit the Mahatma Ghandi Foundation in the small town of Las Terrenas in the Dominican Republic. The non-profit Foundation’s mission is to improve the community’s quality of life through service and development in education, health, the environment and the arts. The Anacaona Community Library, housed in the Foundation’s quarters, is the town’s only free library, serving both children and adults through its literacy programs.
Please bring new or used books in Spanish of all kinds and levels to the locations listed below and drop them into the labeled bins at the following locations: James E. Marks Intercultural Center Hagerty Library Creese Information Desk Drexel University Book Store
This Book Drive will run throughout the entire month of October.
