Event Description
This interactive workshop will examine the impact of
implicit bias and explore how implicit bias manifests in our daily
interactions. Strategies will address how implicit bias can manifest itself in
the classroom and community, and provide a framework for fostering and building
inclusive and challenging dialogue.
Dr. Dina Shafey Scott is the Training and Technical Assistance
Manager with Legal Services Corporation. She is tasked with creating and
coordinating the Legal Services learning platform for grantees and other
stakeholders in the Legal Aid field. Dr. Shafey Scott has an M.P.A. and a Ph.D.
in Minority and Urban Education, Curriculum and Instruction from the University
of Maryland College Park. Her research focused on the intersectional identities
of marginalized populations to better develop strategies for equal access to
education, and in developing differentiated curriculum. Dr. Shafey Scott has
over 15 years of experience in helping organizations and institutions work
towards a more comprehensive understanding of Diversity and Inclusion through
training and education across multiple disciplines and for multiple
professions.
