First-Gen Celebration: Celebrating and Discovering our Similarities

Event Description
Join the professional team from the Office of Veteran Student Services and The Center for Inclusive Education and Scholarship as they facilitate a virtual conversation with first generation college students at Drexel University.  This program will be hosted on zoom and YouTube.  Participants will hear from members of Drexel’s First Forward program and the Dragon’s First student organization which serves and celebrates first generation college students. The audience will also learn more about the unique perspectives that student-veterans bring to their first-time college experiences as adult learners and how they leverage their military mindset to adapt and persist through their academic mission.  Finally, the panelists will share tips and suggestions about how to navigate their Drexel education and the common ground they share as civilians and veterans!
