Structures of Racism in Higher Education: Bringing Antiracism to STEM, Social Sciences, and Humanities Education
The subject of this evening workshop is
how to analyze, discuss, and confront racism and
inequality on campus--with a specific focus on the curriculum. We ask how do we
achieve an antiracist teaching and learning environment at Drexel?
Rashawn Ray, PhD, Professor of Sociology and Executive Director of the Lab for Applied Social Science Research, University of Maryland-College Park is keynote speaker, will be presented by Kim Gholston, Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer of Drexel University.
Panelists Walter Lee, PhD, Associate Professor of Engineering Education at Virginia Tech, Alice Prawley, PhD, Associate Professor of Engineering Education at Purdue University, and Stephanie Masta (Zywicki), Assistant Professor of Curriculum Studies at Purdue University will follow with presentation ad discussion moderated by Amy Slaton, PhD, Professor of History at Drexel University.
Student Leaders will present comments and questions, followed by an open discussion and Q&A.
