Connecting to Scholarly Publications in Support of Teaching - Session 1
Start Date: 11/19/2019Start Time: 2:00 PM
End Date: 11/19/2019End Time: 3:00 PM
Event Description
Learn about the Libraries’ support to guide you through the dynamic and complex information landscape in which we live and work. Rather than build large collections as research libraries did in the past, the Drexel Libraries now focuses on enabling effective access to scholarship. This session will look at how trends like this, as well as upcoming changes to the licensed resources offered by the Libraries, impact your course syllabi and assigned readings for students in winter 2020 and beyond.

During the seminar, Drexel librarians will demonstrate strategies to find and retrieve course readings that inform and inspire your students. Learn about different Open Access options and tips for utilizing resource-sharing services. Faculty will also have the opportunity to share their insights for discovering and accessing publications. Exploring how to connect to scholarship nowadays will help us prepare our students for future professions and life-long learning.

Who should attend? Any faculty, teaching assistants, instructional designers and other Drexel staff who review, create and update assigned readings and syllabi.

Not on campus? Attend via Zoom, an online webinar service.
