Event Description
The graduate program in Communication, Culture and Media presents its colloquia series, featuring visiting scholar Isabelle Cuykx, PhD candidate in the Department of Communication Sciences of the University of Antwerp (Belgium).
Food media content is ubiquitous and has been shown to correlate with many food-related aspects such as BMI, (un)healthy food preferences, and food intake. Understanding how people encounter food media is crucial in comprehending their potential impact. Ms. Cuykx will discuss the results of a qualitative focus group study on food media encounters; a survey study on clustering home cooks; and the development and validation of the food media content gratification sought and obtained scale.
Ms. Cuykx is a researcher with the InFlOOD project on food and media use in Flanders; a co-founder of the CoronaCookingSurvey (an international research project on food during COVID-19); and a lab coordinator at the Antwerp Social Lab for psychophysiological research. |
