Event Description
Anthropology Day, celebrated on February 16, 2017, is a day for anthropologists to share their excitement about their discipline with the public around them. “This is a great time for anthropology,” says Alisse Waterston, PhD,  president of the American Anthropological Association. “Today’s anthropologists are making remarkable contributions to human understanding and tackling the world’s most pressing problems.”

Four anthropologists from Drexel and Penn will share the perspectives on a number of contemporary issues from around the world.  Each anthropologist will speak for about 10 minutes and then a discussion with the audience will follow. After the formal presentation refreshments will be served.

Speakers:

  • Amber Reed, PhD, Drexel University
  • Rachel Reynolds, PhD, Drexel University
  • Nikhil Anand, PhD, University of Pennsylvania
  • Megan Kassabaum, PhD, University of Pennsylvania
