A panel of former Drexel athletes will share their journey through Drexel’s athletic program and how it prepared them for their professional careers. Speakers include:

• Tim Whitworth ’04 (moderator)
• Frantz Massenat ’14 (Men’s Basketball)
• Hollie Mershon ’14 (Women’s Basketball)
• Rodney Williams’17 (Men’s Basketball)

Meet the Speakers:

Tim Whitworth’04 (moderator)
A 2004 graduate of the Lebow College of Business, Tim Whitworth spent 11 seasons playing professional basketball across Europe and representing clubs in Austria, Finland, Hungary, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Spain and Sweden. Now retired as an athlete, he is a broker with NorthMarq Advisors in Pennsylvania. He is also active in the Healthy Hoops program sponsored by AmeriHealth Caritas, which educates children and parents through basketball events that teaches them how to manage their asthma and weight through appropriate use of medication, diet and exercise. As a Dragon, he was a three-year starter and helped lead the program to a pair of NIT postseason appearances. He holds the Drexel single season record (51.3%) and ranks among the career leaders in three-point field goal percentage (38.4%), while also placing among the all-time leaders in points scored (1,039). The Philadelphia native currently resides in Ocean City, N.J..

Frantz Massenat ’14
2014 College of Arts and Sciences graduate Frantz Massenat is an American professional basketball player for Victoria Libertas Pesaro of the Italian Lega Basket Serie A. In his collegiate career at Drexel University, he was named to the First Team All-CAA following the 2011-12 season as a sophomore, leading the Drexel Dragons to 2012 CAA Men's Basketball Tournament where they were narrowly defeated by Virginia Commonwealth University. Massenat started in every game of his collegiate career at Drexel. Following his senior season, he ranked sixth on Drexel's career scoring list with 1,646 points, and his 548 career assists ranked third all-time at Drexel and ninth in CAA history. He is originally from Hamilton, New Jersey and went to Trenton Catholic Academy.

Hollie Mershon ’14
2014 School of Education graduate Hollie Mershon is an American professional basketball player currently playing for Udominate Basket in Umeå,Sweden, Eurocup Division. Mershon played her rookie professional year 2013 to 2014 in the Euroleague as point guard for the Kibirstis Vici Iki team in Vilnius, Lithuania. She led the 2013 Drexel Women’s Basketball team, coached by Denise Dillon, to win the 2013 Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) championship and was named the All Tournament MVP. At Drexel, she is the sixth all-time leading scorer and third all-time in assists. In 2017, Mershon was named as one of the Top 20 Players of all time in the WNIT. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and attended Archbishop Carroll High School.

Rodney Williams’17
A 2017 Lebow College of Business graduate, Rodney Williams spent three seasons playing professionally in Europe and the Middle East, including stints with Maccabi Ra'anana in Israel, Baskonia II in Spain, GET Vosges in France and Umea in Sweden. Professionally, he averaged 14.3 points and 7.7 rebounds. At Drexel, Williams was named the Dragons’ Most Valuable Player and earned All-CAA Third Team honors as a senior. He was also a three-time Academic All-CAA honoree. He ranks among the Dragons’ career leaders with 1,158 points, 687 rebounds and 128 blocks. The native of Richmond, Virginia attended St. Christopher’s School.
