Event Description
Are you confused about how often you should see your gynecologist? Changes in guidelines for pap smear screening created some confusing messages for many women as were told that they do not need to see their gynecologist every year. Women of all ages will benefit from this talk as this experienced speaker discusses when and why women should seek care from their Women’s Health Clinician. Topics will include routine screening and common concerns for women in vay-ing life stages.
Ourr speaker is Marie S. McClay, DrNP, WHNP-BC is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Col-lege of Nursing and Health Professions at Drexel University.
She earned a BSN from West Chester University, an MSN as a Women’s Health Nurse Practi-tioner from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Drexel University. Dr. McClay has extensive clinical and academic experience in advanced nursing prac-tice, teaching in both graduate nursing and medical education programs. She is a board certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Colposcopist. She is the former Director of Fami-ly Planning At AccessMatters, directing one of the nation’s largest state and federally funded Family Planning Programs where she provided clinical expertise on a national level through presentations at conferences and participating in national workgroups to enhance services in un-der-served communities. Currently, she is the CNHP Administrative Director of the Philadelphia Sexual Assault Response Center (PSARC) and Course Director of the Comprehensive Col-poscopy Course. She also maintains an active clinical practice as a nurse practitioner providing full-scope Obstetrics and Gynecology to women across the lifespan at Thomas Jefferson Univer-sity Hospital, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
