Start Date: 3/15/2017Start Time: 9:00 AM
End Date: 3/15/2017End Time: 11:00 AM
Event Description
ArcGIS: Getting Data into Maps is the second in a three-part series of ArcGIS trainings designed to teach participants how to get tabular data containing latitudes and longitudes, street addresses, or other place names, into a format that can be used to create maps with ArcGIS. The training will also demonstrate how to link tabular data to existing spatial datasets.

The workshop series is cosponsored by the Urban Health Collaborative and the Center for Public Health Practice, both at the Dornsife School of Public Health.

ArcGIS: Getting Data into Maps will be taught by Steven Melly, MS. Mr. Melly is a Geographic Information System (GIS) Analyst for the Urban Health Collaborative at Dornsife School of Public Health, Drexel University. He has extensive experience using GIS to model the physical world for public health research. Working closely with epidemiologists and biostatisticians, he has used GIS to create variables from spatial datasets that can be used in statistical models of exposure to environmental hazards. He has also used GIS to create neighborhood measures of the social environment.
