You want how much for my district's data? Protecting your district and student data from hackers
Start Date: 3/18/2021Start Time: 3:00 PM
End Date: 3/18/2021End Time: 4:30 PM
Event Description
According to the U.S. Government Accountability Office (September 2020), thousands of K-12 students were affected by 99 reported data breaches. Additionally, “the FBI and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) recently warned that ransomware attacks on K-12 entities had risen dramatically during the 2nd half of 2020 and that these and other cyberattacks are likely to continue over the next year (Ropek, 2021, para. 1).

Students’ academic records and personally identifiable information, such as social security numbers, were the primary targets. The transition to online teaching and learning caused by the pandemic heightened attention on K-12 data and cybersecurity. This webinar will focus on steps every public and private school should implement to protect their data from hackers.
