• Discuss the ethical principles of clinical practice, including autonomy and how it pertains to capacity assessment
• Outline the criteria used to assess decisional capacity.
• Explain the process of obtaining consent from special populations (children, older patients with dementia, patients with intellectual/developmental disabilities, etc.)
• Summarize several types of Advanced Directives and how they relate to informed consent and capacity assessment.
