Event Description Campus Debrief: Drexel’s Presence in Africa Report on ongoing and anticipated research and work in Africa; a time for questions.
Tuesday, April 22, 2014 1:30-3:00 p.m.
The Intercultural Center, Lower Level 30 S. 33rd Street Philadelphia, PA 19104
An increasing number of Drexel faculty and staff are engaged in research, teaching and service activities in Africa. Efforts include an on-going Rotary International funded effort to improve maternal child health in Uganda, and public health projects in The Gambia and Senegal related to maternal and child health, HIV/AIDS prevention and education and chronic disease management.
Having researched and worked in Africa, Drexel affiliates are now able to describe equally rich opportunities for collaboration in many other areas. During this campus-wide debrief, participants will also learn about anticipated, campus-funded opportunities and partnerships in more than 10 additional countries in Sub-Saharan Africa (East, West and Southern Africa).
All are welcome to learn about efforts to increase Drexel’s presence in Uganda.
Refreshments will be provided!
