Speaker:
Qun Chen, PhD
CEO of Central Research Institute (CRI)
United Imaging Healthcare (UIH)
Shanghai, China
Details:
Medical imaging nowadays plays a very important role in both clinical diagnosis and scientific discovery. However, the needs for medical imaging technology are not the same for developing and developed countries, and sometimes are even different among different regions within the same country such as China.
To meet these different needs, United Imaging Healthcare (UIH) develops and produces a full portfolio of medical imaging equipment such as X-ray, CT, MRI, PET-CT and PET-MRI as well as radiotherapy equipment such as CT-guided LINAC. In addition, it offers medical IT and AI solutions to serve not only large hospitals in major cities, but also small healthcare institutions in remote regions. Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Shanghai, the company has subsidiaries and R&D centers across China, US, and other parts of the world.
In this talk, the speaker will discuss the latest development of high-end medical imaging equipment such as the total-body PET/CT and high-definition PET/MRI and the trend of providing both basic and advanced healthcare services to regions that are previously underserved via internet and AI-based technology.
