Event Description How does social change happen? Most of the time, it starts with people identifying a problem and then then working with others to solve that problem. "From Issue to Action" is a series by the Lindy Center for Civic Engagement that invites change-makers within the Drexel community to share their real-life experiences of going through this process. Each event will feature a Q&A with someone who has a compelling story of becoming passionate about an issue and taking action on that issue—then participants will participate in an activity where they can practice social change skills for themselves.
On April 27th at 5:30pm, we'll hear from student Jaara Ndaw, whose international experiences led her to think about barriers that Black students face when considering study abroad and work with Drexel faculty and staff to address those barriers. After Jaara’s Q&A, participants will practice mind-mapping issues they are passionate about and thinking through how to build collective power through targeted messages to different stakeholders. |
