Alumni Panel and Networking - How to Get a Job in Media Arts and Design

Event Description
Have you ever wondered what it takes to get a job in media arts and design? Looking for tips and tricks to make yourself stand out among other applicants? Well then you’ve come to the right place. Join us to hear from alumni on how they got into their current position, what it took to get there (and stay there) and how the next generation can prepare to enter the industry. Networking in small breakout rooms will follow the panel event.
This event is part of Adulting 101, a series of programs hosted by Drexel Alumni to help current students and recent alumni gain skills and insight to help set them up for success after graduation and into the real world.

MEET THE PANELISTS
Ethan Geltzer '14 Ethan Geltzer is the Vice President of Digital Marketing & Branding at the recently relaunched Sony frontline label ARISTA records. He is also the founder and CEO of KNCTRNL Artist MGMT, a full-service artist management company working with a roster of Grammy-nominated and multi-platinum producers. His clients included Rob Garza (Thievery Corporation), Lookas, SMLE, Just A Gent, and MEMBA. He previously served as Digital Marketing Manager at Island Records where he initiated and executed digital marketing strategies on behalf of artists including Shawn Mendes, Mike Posner, Fall Out Boy, The Killers, Neon Trees, American Authors, and The Vamps. Drexel recently selected Ethan for their 40 under 40 class of 2020, which highlights 40 graduates for leadership and innovation within their space.

Emily Miller '06 is a graduate from the Drexel University fashion design program, class of 2006 currently residing in Los Angeles. She began her career early after a successful internship at Vera Wang where she harnessed her studies in bridal design. After gaining knowledge of couture techniques she accepted a position at BCBG Max Azria Group. Alongside owners Max and Lubov, Emily helped to establish their in-house accessories design team that she led for 7 years. Her designs were a celebrity favorite and many were featured in global publications such as WWD Accessories, Instyle, and Harper's Bazaar. She continued her career at Global Brands Group working for their Bebe and Juicy Couture divisions. Most recently, Emily joined the team at Swarovski North America as a Senior Product Development Manager. Focusing on the B2B sector, she was instrumental in the success of numerous collaborations including American Girl’s First Holiday Doll and Swarovski x Takashi Murakami’s apparel collection for Complexcon. Emily currently consults for several brands under her design agency, Spec’d Studio, that she founded in 2020 with another fashion professional.

Meghan Moeller '06 is a graduate of Drexel's Westphal College of Media Arts and Design, she studied Film and Video Production. She has over 15 years of experience in entertainment in producing, digital media, and talent management. Meghan started in traditional media working on TV shows like America’s Got Talent, Last Comic Standing, The Comedy Central Roasts, and award shows like The American Music Awards and the Golden Globes. From there she went into Talent Management representing comedians, writers, directors, and actors at Artist First. She was one of the early digital pioneers to jump from traditional media into digital media, and was one of the first Digital Talent Managers in Hollywood to represent and develop influencers at Big Frame/AwesomenessTV. Following her passion for creating content in the digital space she went over to Buzzfeed where she managed and produced content for the lifestyle brand Ladylike. After 14 years in LA, Meghan recently moved back to the east coast and is now a Senior Content Producer at Amazon Live.

Andre Rucker '11 is a Philadelphia based photographer incorporating animation, 3D printing and cgi, along with traditional photography, to give new perspective to ordinary objects. Andre has made images for clients such as Runner's World Magazine, URBN, Nair, Tröegs and more.
