CSDN Capstone - Daniel Clark: "Popularity Induced Volatility in the Equity Market"
Start Date: 5/20/2021Start Time: 3:00 PM
End Date: 5/20/2021End Time: 4:00 PM

Event Description

Daniel Clark's Custom-Designed major blends finance, computer science, and math to infuse financial services with important information grounded in data science. During his capstone research, which started in 2020, interest in the stock market grew significantly due in part to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, brokerages have dramatically increased their user growth, and online communities have aggregated retail investors to an unprecedented magnitude. Daniel's presentation is concerned with how volatility changes when access to popularity measures are limited.
