Event Description
The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is pleased to invite you to this year's James A. Batts Jr. Diversity Dinner.
James A. Batts Jr. joined the staff at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1979 and retired in 1989 as senior attending physician and professor emeritus in the department of obstetrics and gynecology. Dr. Batts had an interest in increasing the number of underrepresented medical students and regularly recruited and mentored students. Each year, Dr. Batts hosted a party at his own expense for underrepresented students and faculty at MCP. This year, we are returning to the tradition of naming the Diversity Dinner in his honor.
Purchase a ticket, sponsor a student to attend or donate to the Dr. James A. Batts Student Fund which helps support our URiM students through out their medical school journey.
This event is open to medical school graduates of the class of 2022
