Learning Objectives:

  • To describe the current science behind the medical issues of women after meno-
    pause and the prescription of hormone therapy for symptoms of menopause.
  • To review concentrated insulins and their role in managing insulin resistant
    type 2 diabetes.
  • To recognize the signs and symptoms of PCOS and to discuss the latest
    updates in the management of PCOS.
  • To discuss the gender-based differences commonly seen in gastrointestinal
    disorders and liver diseases.
  • To outline the current FDA guidelines for the labeling of sunscreens, to identify the signs of skin cancer and be able to describe noninvasive anti-aging interventions.
  • To describe the workup for pelvic organ prolapse and when to refer to a specialist.
  • To discuss the workup, diagnosis and management of breast lumps.

Internal medicine, family medicine and women's health physicians, fellows, residents, students, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses and allied health professionals

AOA: This program is eligible for 4.25 credits in Category 2A of the American Osteopathic Association.
