Event Description A reading by award-winning poet John Murillo
The Drexel Writing Festival presents a reading by award-winning poet John Murillo. Author of Kontemporary Amerikan Poetry and Up Jump the Boogie, Murillo is the winner of the prestigious Kingsley Tuft Award. Murillo’s poetry offers “a reflective look at the legacy of institutional, accepted violence against Blacks and Latinos and the personal and societal wreckage wrought by long histories of subjugation.” Murillo will give a reading, followed by a Q&A.
