Event Description The Entertainment and Arts Society(EAS) is proud to present Night of the Arts, an evening dedicated to honoring the artistic community on Drexel’s campus and providing student artists with a networking opportunity among alumni, faculty, and local industry professionals. Visit us on our Facebook Page. Throughout the 6.5 hour event there will be live music, theater, and dance performances as well as visual artwork displays, screenings of student films, a raffle for arts and entertainment events in the Philadelphia area, and complimentary refreshments. The Dean of the Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design, Allen Sabinson, will introduce the festivities along with several other speakers. The night will conclude with sets in the Black Box Theater from student bands including Tioga, Grayling, Henri Tyler and Blueroom. For the second time in Drexel's history, a broad range of art forms and over 100 talented student artists will culminate in one evening of networking, celebration, and excitement surrounding the thriving and ever-growing community of artists on campus.
In addition to providing an opportunity for the artists at Drexel to display their work, Night of the Arts is designed as a networking event for students looking to find CO-OP positions. With several arts colleges in the surrounding area and hundreds of students vying for jobs and internships, Night of the Arts gives students a chance to network with industry professionals and alumni while simultaneously showcasing their artistic abilities. This event is co-sponsored by Drexel University’s Alumni Association and The Good Idea Fund.
