Event Description Neighborhood Bike Works (three events!)
EVENT 1: Bikes to Barnes Event- May 6th 12pm - 5:30pm (Bike to Barnes-Barnes Foundation at 2025 Benjamin Franklin Pkwy, Philadelphia, PA 19130) EVENT 2: Art In The Open Event- May 18th-20th 9am-5pm (Schuylkill River Trail at Schuylkill River Trail: Locust and South 25th Street, Philadelphia, PA in the park) EVENT 3: Pedalpalooza (Neighborhood Bike Works annual fundraiser)- May 31 from 5pm-10pm (Smith Playground: 3500 Reservoir Dr, Philadelphia, PA 19121 If you are unable to commit the whole shift, please write the time you can come in the comment.
About the Organization: The mission of Neighborhood Bike Works is to inspire youth and strengthen Philadelphia communities by providing equitable access to bicycling and bike repair through education, recreation, leadership and career-building opportunities.
Service Description: We are looking for volunteers with an excitement for bicycles to join our amazing team to help park bicycles. At these events we will average between 200 and 500 bicycles a day. NBW has provided bicycle valet service at events throughout Philadelphia for the past several years. The job is physical, you will be walking and lifting bicycles onto racks. Benefits include bicycle commute incentive, wholesale discount, free entry into coll art events, and more. We are looking for folks who are friendly, a multitasker, and wanting to connect with community.
